UNC Charlotte welcomes international faculty and scholars to teach, conduct research, and collaborate with colleagues on its campus. During an academic year, UNC Charlotte hosts approximately 125 faculty and scholars from more than 25 different countries. ISSO provides support for international faculty and scholars by:
- Helping faculty and scholars currently performing teaching and research at UNC Charlotte , including information about immigration regulations and University services.
- Helping UNC Charlotte departments hosting international faculty and scholars, including assistance in choosing the appropriate immigration classification, obligations of the sponsor, and visa request forms.
- Helping faculty and scholars interested in coming to UNC Charlotte, including information about academic appointments, visas, and life in Charlotte.
- We also provide information to allow you to learn more about visa categories.
To initiate a UNC Charlotte request for a J-1 Exchange Visitor or an H-1B employee, you must be a department administrator or faculty member with an account in the ISSO Scholar Portal.
