Application for Re-Admission to UNC Charlotte

This application form is for F-1 & J-1 international students only. To avoid any complications or delays with the re-admission process, please complete this application with information that matches your educational records and personal passport. If you are an undergraduate student and wish to seek re-admission, you must apply with the Registrar's Office. However, if you are a graduate student, you MUST contact the Graduate School to ask about your eligibility to enroll at the upcoming semester or you need to re-apply. AFTER you have received a written confirmation from the registrar office or the graduate school to indicate that you have been offered re-admission, you MUST contact the international Student and Scholar office to request an I-20 or DS-2019 form.


INSTRUCTIONS TO APPLICANTS IN THE U.S.: All re-admit F-1 or J-1 students should complete this form with the appropriate financial documents and submit it to the International Student and Scholar Office AFTER you have been re-admitted to UNC Charlotte. If you are enrolled at another institution in the United States, please complete the Transfer-In Form, have it signed by your current immigration advisor and request your SEVIS record to be transferred to UNC Charlotte, school code ATL214F10291000 or ATL214F10291001. You will not be issued an I-20 or DS-2019 from UNC Charlotte until your SEVIS record transfer is completed. Once you are issued an I-20 or DS-2019 from UNC Charlotte, you must report to the International Student and Scholar Office within 15 days of the beginning of classes to have your transfer processed.


INSTRUCTIONS TO APPLICANTS OUTSIDE THE U.S.: All re-admit F-1 or J-1 students should complete this form and submit it with the appropriate financial documents to ISSO to request a new I-20 or DS-2019 form. Once ISSO receives a copy of your re-admission letter, this form, and new financial documents, an I-20 or DS-2019 from will be issued to you. Please note that it takes ISSO five (5) days to issue the I-20 form and about 3 weeks for you to receive it via first class mail. Once you receive the I-20, you must pay the SEVIS fee and apply for a new F-1 visa. However, if your current F-1 visa is valid and you are outside the States for less than 5 months, you may use the current visa to re-enter the States on the newly issued I-20.


All international readmitted students must complete this form & submit it together with the following items before consideration for issuance of I-20/DS-2019:
     1- Scanned copy of bank statement or financial guarantee letter (in English) issued within one year from your sponsor
     2- Scanned copy of the Academic Advisor Certification Form
     3- Scanned copy of written proof of re-admission from the Registrar's Office or the Graduate School

As we want to give you every opportunity to secure a positive educational experience at UNC Charlotte, we urge you to submit this form with all supporting documents ASAP to allow sufficient time for the I-20 or DS-2019 form issuance and the visa application procedure at a U.S embassy
